Tank Wagon

Needling at 90%!

Whilst Adam continued work on our new workbench, I used the railway being closed to make plenty of noise with the needle gun. Unfortunately there’s a lot of tasks now involving the needle gun and wire wheel which is very very time consuming. So if you’re reading this and want to lend us a hand for a couple of hours, drop us a message!

The next 2 images show what it was like at the start of the day.

The aim of the needle gunning is to take off the top layer of paint, meaning we can get a nice surface to work on with the wire wheel afterwards!

Above you can see the bottom half needle gunned. It’s amazing how quickly the paint comes off with the right tools!
Below you will see what it looked like once I did the top half. Remember this is all prior to the next stage of wire wheeling…

We once again found more evidence of the red stripe too!

I then finished the day continuing with more paint removal on the track side of the tank.

When you step back you realise there’s still a lot to do but we’ve come along way from what it looked like before! All being well, our next work day should be next Sunday but needle gunning wise, there really isn’t that much left to do. Just some bits on the chassis and some patches up top!

Cheers, Ollie 🚂
