Tank Wagon

Calling it: half way point reached

That’s it, I’m calling it – we are half way!

Today the 3 of us did a huge amount. Probably one of the most productive days.

⬆️ Raised the tank 2 inches and settled it on temporary supports
✂️ Cut out the last of corroded wheel guards
🪵 Removed the last of the old saddle
💪 Lifted off one of the tank straps
🧽 Needle gunned and prepped the stanchion ready for priming
🛢️ Cleaned and rust treated the end of the buffer beam
🛠️ Started removal of some steel work which the stanchion and saddle mounted too
🎥 Did some filming

We have to remove a ladder, the opposite end stanchion (already started) and the other brake assembly (when the other one goes back on!) and one last tank strap but once those few bits are done, everything starts going back on!

Having raised that tank has enabled us to jump forward into needle gunning, and prepping the chassis ready for painting.
