News Tank Wagon

We’re back, but it’s cold!

The 3 musketeers!

Thankfully no rain today, but temperatures were still very low with the occasional bit of direct sunlight on the tank.
What started off as a slow day ended up with some more large steps forwards under the circumstances.

Jim continued grafting away at the chassis with the more abrasive wire wheel (an insanely time consuming job) whilst Adam had a go at setting up his gas. Sadly the latter wasn’t successful but he continued to work on other areas including the protecting brake hangers from the track-side half of the wagon, ready for the sand blaster.

I carried on where I left off from my last visit, by wire wheeling an area I had previously needle-gunned. With the help of Adam, I added filler to sort some small imperfections in the tank, this time making sure we didn’t mix up the whole tub of filler in one go!
Adam and Jim assisted me in removing the second ladder from the wagon before the pair cracked on with removing a section of laminated metal from the body of the tank. An area we plan to re-weld some new metal back in.

Don’t forget if you want to join the team, drop us a message!

See you in the next one!
