This weekend started cold and quickly turned cold and wet. I have a rule. I will be cold, wet or hungry, but only 1 of those at any one time, so refuge was sought via Pot Noodles and the warmth of a Spaniel at home.
Saturday, I had another CVR volunteer help me; thank you, other Adam! Adam helped me finish some preparations for welding in the new plate to fill the hole in the tank. After that, we both started working on some rivets left in the wagon from the old mudguards. They’re all gone!
The only rivets that remain on the wagon now, which need to come out, are currently holding up the other stanchion, and that will get removed hopefully on the 6th Feb. That is going to be a huge step because at that point, nothing else will need to come off. Everything starts going back on.
On Sunday, I started the construction of a jig to hold letter punches in a straight line, ready for the stamping of people’s names into the chassis. It turned very windy and cold, so I ate the aforementioned Pot Noodle and left. Chicken and Mushroom for the extra curious.
